The fourth largest island of Seychelles' granitic group, La Digue is one of the most beautiful islands in the Indian Ocean. The coast is spectacular, with enormous boulders rising above perfect white sand beaches. With a population of just 2000 and no airstrip on the island, La Digue can offer visitors a truly peaceful and undisturbed holiday experience. There are also very few cars here, and transport on the island is more likely to take the form of a bicycle or ox-cart. As with other islands in the archipelago, La Digue is renowned for its friendliness and hospitable service - nothing is too much to ask here.
The island is famous for its pretty Creole architecture and the large smooth boulders which line its beaches, including the Anse Source d'Argent, a particularly attractive spot. As the largest resort on the island, the La Digue Island Lodge is in totally harmony with traditional Seychelloise style, and is built completely with local woods and thatching. Accommodation ranges from beachfront suits to quaint A-frame cottages and elegant rooms in a restored plantation house. All the usual luxury amenities are available, as well as a wonderfully atmospheric thatched roof restaurant right on the beach - this is a laid-back resort where you don't have to worry about putting your shoes on for dinner!
Honeymooners:- will receive a platter of tropical delights and a local flower decoration upon arrival.
